Sports Centre Grand Plans

Exciting times lie ahead for the Canford Sports Centre. Plans for the new 6 lane 25 metre swimming pool to replace the existing outdoor facility are in full swing.

Contracts for the build have been awarded and enabling works have commenced. Inevitably car parking is a little less spacious than we have been used to owing to the works and access has become slightly less straightforward. However the inconvenience is temporary and so far the arrangements are working well.

The fitness suite has been almost doubled in size as part of the planned new build. The equipment provided has been upgraded and there is now much more than in the old suite.

The existing changing rooms will remain but will undergo some modernisation. The work here will focus on improvements to the overall aesthetics and to the ventilation system.
